Cruiser Build

We all know Africa is Toyota country, even more so Botswana is Land Cruiser country. We recently got our hands on a 2020 V8 Landcruiser 79 with one goal in mind. As per our customers request ‘turn it into a beast’! That being said, we loved the idea, and got straight to work!

First things first, we added an Opposite Lock bumper and two LightForce Genesis spot lights, which completed the look very nicely. On top of those accessories we also fitted a 12000lbs Warn Winch to get out of those dodgy situations. The bumper also acts as extra protection to the vehicle, with so many cows and donkeys roaming our back roads! Secondly we fitted a pair of GobiX rock sliders, to protect the vehicle, as well as to have a slight step to get into the ‘beast’.

Spending a lot of time on back roads for this cruiser, means we also fitted Ralph Big Bore adjustable shocks, as well as full Tough Dog suspension!

On top we fitted a Front Runner roof rack, in order to neatly pack away any extra accessories that our customer might want to take with. The Front Runner roof rack is modular, meaning there are endless possibilities with customising to your intended needs, and applications.

The V8 cruiser is loved by many here in Botswana. We fitted a monster Safari Armax Snorkel in order for the cruiser to breathe nicely. Whether on road or off road, a snorkel can improve engine efficiency by drawing in cooler, cleaner and uncontaminated air due to its elevated position. Air that is usually taken in around the engine bay is hot and will contain particles of dirt, grease and dust as your vehicle drives. For this system to be complete, we added a 76mm full performance exhaust by De Graaf. A better flowing exhaust always improves the power your engine can make, not to mention a beautiful sound coming from the powerful V8!

Inside the cabin of the cruiser, we also added a few touches of luxury, to keep our customer comfortable on those long drives into the bush! First of all, an IndelB console fridge which is easily accessible and more than big enough to keep the cool drinks ice cold on the road. The console fridge is 15L, and sits comfortably in between the two front seats! Adding to the inside finishes, we fitted full Signature Takla Seat Covers, with a beautiful colour combo of beige with blue stitching, as well as the customers custom logo embroidered into the back rests! We also added magnetised arm rests on each side with cup holders, for those lovely sunset drives in the bush!

The final touches inside the cabin were completed with a full sound system upgrade! Behind the rear seats, a custom subwoofer box was added with a 12inch Kenwood Sub, as well as upgraded speakers all around. We can assure you the quality, and clarity of the sound coming from this cruiser is absolutely brilliant!

Our customer spends time on his farm, so we added our in-house, custom made, cattle rails, made right here in Botswana, by our brilliant fabrication teams! On the rear we added an ONCA replacement bumper with spare wheel carrier, as well as a long range fuel tank. The biggest advantage of having a larger fuel tank is the fact that you can go further without having to refill. Another benefit is being able to store extra fuel safely under your 4WD, this means you don’t have to carry a couple of jerry cans!

With the cruiser looking like a ‘beast’ we finished it off with 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer ST tyres, with matt black mags giving the cruiser an aggressive look, ready to tackle and explore our beautiful continent! We thoroughly enjoy these builds, always coming with their challenges and rewards, and look forward to many more!

We thank all of our customers for their continued support, and wish you many happy kilometres with this beautiful beast of a cruiser!
